A new industry initiative for Thoroughbred racing in Australia. RACEMATE delivers to industry participants foundational knowledge, and best practice skills in engaging instructional videos with further education for those who seek to be better.
The next generation of staff in our industry has a different view on working conditions and learning, which are almost polar opposites to the way we have all gained our skills and knowledge. By acknowledging this, and accommodating these changes in a way that benefits the employer, eases the burden on the current skilled staff, and has the ultimate appeal to the newbies, we will be able to achieve a more synergistic transition to where the industry needs to be in order to continue into the future.
RACEMATE will be there helping the new kids on the block be the proactive and effective team members we need them to be. Our new generation seeks to know before they do, are filled with anxiety that we have never seen before, and spend more time on their phones than they do in person-to-person interactions. Our industry operates in a different way and we have a huge disconnect, this is a key driver in low staff retention and high turnover. This is overloading those that have come up with the known way of putting in your dues, and they are burning out at rates we have never seen before.
When we find ourselves in a dilemma we need our mates.
RACEMATE is everyone's mate providing the kind of support the new generation expects. Relieving the current staff of the repetitive basics they have to teach to new ones, who may or may not stay on. RACEMATE also alleviates the babysitting of them completing the daily tasks. RACEMATE is going to allow our tried and true staff more time to do their work. It will most importantly minimize the abrasive encounters we all know occur between current and new.
Trainers and owners will rest easy knowing the newbies have a mate showing them uniformed best practice care, and demonstrating the knowledge and skill level required for their roles.
Businesses will gain productivity, efficiency, and staff empowerment. In turn, positively impacting the retention of existing staff, retention of new staff, and staff turnover may be minimized substantially. As well as the benefit of staff movement within the industry who have a uniformed, best practice foundational knowledge because they can all utilize HF’s platform. This means a consistent standard of safety and care for the horse and that grossly improves everyone's bottom line.
